 This 5 day tour aims to show you the most beautiful route in Northwest 
Vietnam: a journey from Yen Bai to Lao Cai. It covers the least-visited, but 
most stunning destinations of the region, including Nghia Lo, Tu Le and Mu Cang 
Chai. You will enjoy a scenic hike to admire the picturesque settings of 
terraced rice fields in Nghia Lo, Tu Le and Sa pa. These imposing fields draw a 
number of Vietnamese youth who love to take pictures and travel with a sense of 
adventure. Amidst this magnificent landscape, you will meet ethnic minority 
people in their colorful costumes.
 
 Day 1: Ha Noi – Nghia Lo – Tu Le (L, D)
 Pick you up at your hotel, leaving the bustling streets on way to verdant rice 
paddies and farmland along Hwy 32. By early afternoon you'll be moving away from 
the Red River Delta to Tu Le via Nghia Lo. Nghia Lo is situated along a 
beautiful mountain ridge with lush forests, tea plantations, rice terraces and 
gum trees, the picturesque valleys are stunning.
 We have lunch in Nghia Lo and enjoy stunning views of countryside and nature, 
visit local villages, experience daily life of hill tribe people. Continue our 
drive to Tu Le, the road follows the mountains of Hoang Lien Son and winds 
through the rice terraces. Stop to start your hike and enjoy the beautiful 
scenery. Don’t forget to take photos on the way before reaching the village of 
the Thai and H'mong ethnic minorities. People here are dressed in traditional 
costumes and will welcome you with open arms. The locals here still retain their 
traditional lifestyle, customs and habits so this is a good chance to learn more 
about the culture. Night at a local house.
 
 Day 2: Tu Le – Mu Cang Chai – trekking around villages (B,L,D)
 You will be surprise before the wonderful rice terrace belong the route from Tu 
Le – Mù Cang Chải.
 
 Run over the Khau Pha pass (one of the four greatest passes in Northern Vietnam 
with 40km many fomu cang chai.jpgg in the cold days). The ride is on some of the 
most scenic roads which offer a lot of stops for picturing. We’ll cross Tu Le 
and Mu Cang Chai, the two remote lands of Yen Bai province where the black 
H’mong, Dzao and Thai people can make wonderful rice terrace on the mountains.
 
 Enjoy trekking tours around La Pan Tan commune, visit Trong Tong village, 
explore the life & musical of Mong people.
 
 Leave Trong Tong, continue trekking from La Pan Tan village to enjoy Mam Xoi 
rice terrace of yen bai.jpgH’mong people in Mu Cang Chai. Picnic lunch is served 
along trekking path. Visit some school and touch with children. Beside the rice 
terrace, you will have a chance to explore the culture & local life of Mong 
people, such as music traditional, agriculture tools. Overnight at homestay in 
Mu Cang Chai.
 
 Day 3: Mu Cang Chai – Than Uyen – Sapa (B,L,D)
 After breakfast, you can have time for a short visit of the Mu Cang Chai market 
is open right in the town before continue your road trip to Than Uyen.
 
 Upon your arrival in Than Uyen, you turn right and keep driving uphill towards 
Sapa. The road trip takes about two hours as you travel along the west side of 
Hoang Lien Son mountain range which offers stunning scenery of the fabulous 
Muong Khoa valley. This is well known as the rice basket of Lai Chau province.
 
 Enjoy a coffee break at Chu Va before driving over the Sapa Mountain pass. A 
stop is made when you arrive at Tram Ton, the “Heaven Gate”. Enjoy magnificent 
view of the Fansipan Mount, the highest one in Vietnam.
 
 Arriving in Sapa town around mid/late afternoon, check in hotel for overnight.
 
 Free dinner and overnight in Sapa at hotel.
 
 Day 4: Trekking Giang Ta Chai – Lao Chai – Ta Van (B,L,D)
 AM: Have breakfast at hotel, driver & tour guide take you to Cable Car Station 
and spend 20 minutes with cable car to enjoy the spectacular scenery.
 
 9.00: Reach the altitute of 2800 meters, you have a good time to see the view 
and take photos, visit pagoda the spiritual destinations and trek up to 600 
steps you will reach the peak of Fansipan - the Roof of Indochina. ( Spend about

 11.00: Come back to Cable Car Station and return to Sapa town for Lunch
 
 PM: From Sapa, we trek via Y Linh Ho through beautiful scenery to the Black 
H’mong Village of Lao Chai where we spend time looking around the village and 
learning about life in the village. We enjoy our picnic lunch in Lao Chai or at 
an appropriate spot.After lunch, we walk through rice terraces and on local 
paths to the Zay village of Ta Van. This is the only village in the Sa Pa area 
where the Dzay people live. We spend time looking around the village.
 
 We meet with our local Dzay hosts in their home. Our hosts and guide will 
prepare our evening meal, and the rest of the evening can be spent get – ting to 
know more about family life in Ta Van or strolling around the village.
 
 Day 5: Sapa – Overnight train back to Hanoi (B,L)
 After our breakfast, there’s more time to look around and experience life in Ta 
Van. We then, continue our trekking in the valley through a bamboo village, 
stopping for a picnic lunch at an appropriate spot along the way, this is a 
local food shop at the food of a waterfall and the famous ratan bridge.
 After lunch, we have a coffee break before transfer to Lao Cai town for the 
overnight train back to Hanoi.
